---

**There is no single Spotify Wrapped for movies, books and shows, but there are good recaps for each, and Achriom's Your year is the one that covers all of them together.** It reads your finishes across films, shows, books, albums and anime, or one medium at a time, the all-media view saves as a story or post card, and it is free. Letterboxd, Goodreads and The StoryGraph each recap one slice, with their own rules about who gets it and when.

Here is the quick pick by job.

- For one recap across films, shows, books, albums and anime, pick Achriom.
- For films only, with a diary-based summary in January, pick Letterboxd.
- For books only, when your history already lives there, pick Goodreads.
- For books only, with pages, rereads and DNFs counted, pick The StoryGraph.

## What a good year-in-review shows

A recap is only worth opening if it tells you something you did not already know. The useful ones answer a few questions.

1. **What did you finish, and when?** Months matter more than totals. A year that starts with *Project Hail Mary* in January and ends with *Frieren* in the autumn has a shape.
2. **How did you rate?** A pile of four-star reads says something different from a few fives and a lot of shrugs.
3. **What did you come back to?** A rewatch of *Interstellar* or a replay of *Currents* is a stronger signal than a first pass.
4. **Who was behind it?** The directors, authors and artists you kept returning to.
5. **Can you share it?** A card or a link you can post.

Every recap below depends on you having logged finish dates, which is the real work. If your history is scattered, move it into one place first. [How to import your Goodreads library](/blog/how-to-import-your-goodreads-library/) and [how to export your Letterboxd diary](/blog/how-to-export-your-letterboxd-diary/) cover two common sources.

## Achriom

Achriom's recap spans films, shows, books, albums and anime. Your year (achriom.com/year) is built from what you finished. It shows finishes by month, how you rate, what you came back to, the people behind it, the days and the time spent. A filter row on the page switches between All, Movies, Shows, Books, Albums, Anime, Podcasts and Games, and the page is headed with the current year, so you do not wait for December. In the All view you can save it as a story or a post card.

Here is what it does.

- Reads finishes, ratings, rewatches, rereads and relistens across every medium the page filters by (films, shows, books, albums, anime, podcasts and games), with start and finish dates
- Imports Goodreads (CSV), StoryGraph (CSV), Letterboxd (export zip, CSV or username), IMDb, Trakt (by username, with episodes) and Apple Music, so past years are not blank; every import is free
- No streaks and no guilt language, so a quiet month just looks quiet
- Private by default. Turn on a public profile when you want one, then follow people and share reviews, lists and your diary. Follower counts stay private.
- Free plan with no item limit. Pro is $9.99 a month or $99 a year and adds librarian messages, Taste Portrait refreshes, readings and searching inside books you upload. Your year is not behind it.

Because the recap sits in the same library as an AI librarian, you can also ask it things about your shelf in plain words, like "80s horror I haven't watched". Your Taste Portrait is a separate, free page that names the pattern in your taste once you have ten items.

The catch is that Achriom has no automatic scrobbling from streaming services or media centers, so you log things as you finish them, and a year with few finish dates gives a thin recap. Your year is a page you open when you want it.

## Letterboxd

Letterboxd's Year in Review is the film recap. Its [2025 FAQ](https://letterboxd.com/journal/2025-letterboxd-year-in-review-faq/) says you need at least ten films logged during the year to get the personalized summary, which was emailed on January 2, 2026, with a community round-up following on January 12. Only films logged with a diary date count, so films you only marked as watched or rated do not.

Pro and Patron members see their stats, such as most-watched films, during the year and do not wait for January.

The catch is that it is films only. Your books, shows and albums are somewhere else, so each medium gets its own recap in its own app. For the head-to-head on tracking, see [the best movie tracking apps](/blog/best-movie-tracking-apps/).

## Goodreads

Goodreads calls its recap [Year in Books](https://www.goodreads.com/blog/show/3064). For 2025 it said the page would go live in December, with a personalized email following over a few days to members with at least three books shelved with a 2025 read date. Kindle readers who link their accounts get their Goodreads-shelved books counted, and private Kindle books are left out unless you shelve them.

It needs read dates on your My Books page, so a shelf of undated "read" books will recap thin. It is books only.

The catch is that it is a reading recap and nothing else, and it arrives on Goodreads' schedule. For book-specific options, see [the best book tracking apps](/blog/best-book-tracking-apps/).

## The StoryGraph

The StoryGraph's [Reading Wrap-up](https://roadmap.thestorygraph.com/changelog/reading-wrap-up) is a page per reader per year. When it launched, StoryGraph said you need at least two books marked as read for that year, and that Plus members get a bonus section. An example wrap-up from 2025 shows books and pages, the busiest month, average length and pace, ratings by month, new authors, series, rereads and DNFs.

It is books only.

## Which should you use?

**Use Achriom if** you watch, read and listen across media and want one recap across all of it, free, without waiting for December.

**Use Letterboxd if** film is your main medium and you want the diary-based review with community numbers in January.

**Use Goodreads if** your reading history already lives there and you want the December email.

**Use The StoryGraph if** you want a longer list of reading stats, with rereads and DNFs counted, and you have at least two finished books that year.

If you want the shape of your year without the data entry, start with an import and let [Achriom's Your year](https://www.achriom.com/year) do the reading. For albums specifically, see [the best album tracking apps](/blog/best-album-tracking-apps/).

## Common questions

### Is there a Spotify Wrapped for movies and books?

Yes, in pieces. Letterboxd has a Year in Review for films, Goodreads has Year in Books, and The StoryGraph has a reading wrap-up. Achriom's Your year page covers films, shows, books, albums and anime together, and it is free.

### How do I get a Wrapped-style recap of everything I watched and read?

Put all of it in one library with finish dates, then open its year page. In Achriom you can import Goodreads, StoryGraph, Letterboxd, IMDb and Trakt history, and Your year reads the finishes across every medium or one at a time.

### What do I need for a Letterboxd Year in Review?

Letterboxd says you need at least ten films logged during the year, and only films logged with a diary date count. Films you only marked as watched or rated do not create a diary date.

### Who gets Goodreads Year in Books?

Goodreads says members with at least three books shelved with a read date in that year get the personalized email. The Year in Books page goes live in December and the email follows, and Kindle readers who link their accounts have their Goodreads-shelved books counted.

### Is Achriom's Your year free?

Yes. Your year is part of the free plan, which has no item limit. Pro adds librarian messages, Taste Portrait refreshes, readings and searching inside books you upload, and none of that gates the recap.

### Can I see my year before December?

In Achriom, yes. The Your year page is headed with the current year and you can open it any time. Goodreads' Year in Books page goes live in December, before the year closes, and the email follows. Letterboxd's summary arrives in early January, though Pro and Patron members see their stats during the year.
