Connecting via MCP

Use your Achriom library in Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI clients.

Achriom supports MCP (Model Context Protocol), an open standard that lets AI clients like Claude and ChatGPT connect to your library. Once connected, they can search, add items, update ratings, and browse your collection. Free for all accounts.

Claude

Works in both claude.ai and Claude Desktop. Requires a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise). Two ways to connect:

The plugin gives you MCP access plus Achriom-specific skills built for Claude.

  1. Go to Settings → Plugins
  2. Click Add plugins
  3. Paste this URL and install:
    https://github.com/achriom/achriom-claude-plugin.git
  4. Sign in with your Achriom account

Option 2: Add as a connector (MCP only)

MCP access without the extra skills. No API key needed — you sign in with OAuth.

  1. Go to Settings → Connectors
  2. Click AddAdd custom connector
  3. Enter the name Achriom and URL https://mcp.achriom.com/mcp
  4. Click Add, then Connect and sign in with your Achriom account

ChatGPT

Connect via the official Achriom app — no Developer Mode or manual setup required.

  1. Open the Achriom ChatGPT app
  2. Sign in with your Achriom account

That’s it. Your library is now available in any ChatGPT conversation.

What your AI client can do

Once connected, your AI client can:

  • Search and browse your books, movies, albums, shows, anime, and podcasts
  • Add new items by title — it looks them up and gets the right edition
  • Update ratings, status, and notes so changes sync back to the app
  • Find patterns across your collection and make recommendations
  • Access 29 tools — the same ones the built-in librarian uses

Changes sync in real time. Adding something in Claude makes it appear in the app immediately.
