How to Export Your Letterboxd Data (and What to Do With It)
Where the Letterboxd export button is, what's in the zip (diary, ratings, reviews, lists), and how to import it into Achriom or keep it as a backup.
To export your Letterboxd data, sign in and open letterboxd.com/data/export (it sits in Settings, under Import & Export), then click Export Data. Letterboxd gives you a zip of CSV files covering your profile, films, reviews and lists, including deleted content and reviews of films that have since been removed.
Moving to Achriom? You can skip the ZIP. If your Letterboxd profile is public, Achriom imports it by username. Already downloaded the ZIP? That works too, and so does the CSV.

How to export your Letterboxd data
- Sign in at letterboxd.com.
- Open letterboxd.com/data/export. Or go by hand: your username, Settings, then the Import & Export tab.
- Click Export Data.
- Download the zip and save it somewhere you’ll find it again.
That’s the whole export. Letterboxd’s page doesn’t say how long the zip takes to generate, so if it isn’t there right away, wait a few minutes before you try again.
What’s in the zip
| What you get | Detail |
|---|---|
| Format | A zip archive of CSV files |
| Covers | Your profile, films, reviews, lists and more |
| Includes | Deleted content and reviews of films that have been removed |
| Opens in | Any spreadsheet app, or an importer that reads Letterboxd’s format |
Your diary entries, ratings and written reviews are all in there. The CSVs are plain text, so you can open them in a spreadsheet and see exactly what Letterboxd holds on you.
Where to take the file
Import it into Achriom
Drop the ZIP into Achriom’s Letterboxd import and your ratings and reviews come over as they are, with your films beside your shows, books and albums. Ten films in, it makes your Taste Portrait. The import takes the export zip, the CSV, or just your username if your profile is public, and a review you wrote on Letterboxd arrives as a review. Free accounts can import without an item limit.

Your export is already the hard part. The import takes it from here.
Bring my Letterboxd over →Keep it as a backup
Even if you’re staying on Letterboxd, a copy of your own history is worth having. Save the zip next to your other backups and run the export again after a big stretch of logging.
Try another tracker
Before you upload to any other tracker, check its import page for which file it wants. Our Letterboxd vs Trakt comparison covers how the two differ.
If you’re looking at cross-media tracking
Letterboxd is a film tracker. Achriom keeps films, shows, books, albums, anime, podcasts, games and manga on one shelf, and the librarian can reason across all of it. Best Letterboxd Alternatives in 2026 goes through the options if you want TV, books or music beside your films.
